This Fall: Music is always the other main character in TV series.

The majority of my music library and favorite songs comes actually from TV shows that I have been watching through the years. Especially, the small screen business is getting high on demand by popular streaming services and slowly making more memorable visual storytelling moments towards the audience. One prominent example is the theme/opening song of a show; the majority knows the chorus "I'll be there for you" from 'Friends" or hums Game Of Thrones theme song. Music Supervisors talent is more transparent than ever because they are the ones who can connect the right song for the right time during a specific moment or scene. It is still an underestimated talent by many people in the entertainment industry, and sometimes they don't as much recognition that they deserve.

"Some series even go on to popularize a particular artist or genre or influence the music taste of an entire audience or generation" (Tidal Editors, 2016). Choosing the right style of music has to match with the plot, theme, genre, and mood of the tv series. One example is the teen dramas like One Tree Hill, or The O.C had brought more fame to bands like Fall Out Boy and The Killers. Both shows brought Popularity for the Alternative Rock to their target audience that could identify with the lyrics and melodies. Nowadays, Technology is at our finger tips, and we can find our favorite shows soundtrack in any playlist from Spotify. Additionally, Shazam is a key player to locate the song names while watching a new episode of our latest guilty pleasure.

Up and Coming and Independent artist need consider synchronization deals a part of their career path. Including the fact that hopefully can help to create awareness to simply being played in a one-minute scene of a show, film or commercial. To see the bigger picture can build exposure for a wider audience. On the other hand, music supervisor receives thousands of music applications a day for trying to choose the right song. Like any other career in the music industry takes a lot of time and energy to craft material and wants to pitch it out everywhere. Overall, this could be another option to grow another fan base and have more loyalty.
