Artist of the week: Pontea

Pontea is a Los Angeles based singer-songwriter in which perfectly blends soulful R&B with upbeat modern Pop. Her background is as a daughter of Persian Jewish immigrants and takes all risk to be in the music industry is something to admire for. Culturally speaking, Pontea is being part of a new generation that is defining the dimension of females with similar backgrounds with a passion for arts and entertainment. According from her official website (n.d.), Pontea has been growing her reputation in Southern California over the recent years. In which she has performed in well- known music venues and evoking irresistible charm and sensuality towards the crowd.

She reminds me as an unapologetic old school confidence who wants to conquer the world and at the same time showing a little quirky personality in her Instagram feed. Her two singles 'Come Over' and 'Unpredictable' are a must to add to any playlist for either getting ready in the morning or just a girl's night out. Pontea's voice is powerful and passionate that shows her personality right away in which is a joyful noise. Whenever you hear her covers, she is never afraid to share her vulnerability and give everything that she got to the listeners. There is many people have a natural talent, but not everybody can work hard consistently. Pontea is the kind of singer that is ready to be on top of the world. I can't wait to hear her upcoming EP.
