Short Reviews: States & Capitals New Single 'Drive'
When I heard the band for the first time, it came to my mind that they are the love child of “The 1975” and “The Neighborhood.” The Alternative- Rock band is currently based in Los Angeles and preparing to release their first official EP. First of all, their new single 'Drive' has a sound with many familiar feelings that gives you comfort when you are alone or feeling lonely. It starts with a short intro and the lead singer voice well harmonized with the melody that plays thought. The instrumentation is straight forward with keyboards, electric drums, guitars, bass and synthesizers in which mix modern alternative rock and EDM inspiration. The lyrics seem to be about a relationship that is getting toxic from the boy’s drug addiction. Overall, the music is very light with a dark theme verses. ‘Drive’ is one of those songs about young and raw relationships that has full of intensity and both parties does not want to break up. Overall, it is good to begin a career that will grow towards the young audience and carpool karaoke material.
